

States. Every RPG has these no matter how annoying they are. Most are caused by an item or Special. None of these states linger outside of battle. Here's all the states in Steve RPG.
Negative States
States that hinder in battle.
Pain
The "poison" or "burn" you find in most other RPGs. The holder will lose about 1/25 of his or her max HP every turn.
How to cure:
-A 30% chance each turn after 3 turns.
-An item or Special that can cure it.
-End the battle.
Stiffness
The paralysis state. The holder cannot make a single move unless he or she is healed.
How to cure:
-A 50% chance each turn after 3 turns.
-A 20% chance after taking a hit.
-An item or Special that can cure it.
-End the battle.
Confusion
This is dangerous. The holder's Attack is halved, and he or she has a 50% chance of hitting a teamate. The holder can't even choose their move either, since it will always cause the holder to do a basic attack.
How to cure:
-A 50% chance each turn after 2 turns.
-A 50% chance after taking a hit.
-An item or Special that can cure it.
-End the battle.
Blinded
The most annoying thing to ever happen in any RPG game: hit rate decreases by 50% when using a basic attack.
How to cure:
-An item or Special that can cure it.
-End the battle.
Headache
Does not allow the holder to use Specials.
How to cure:
-A 10% chance each turn after 5 turns.
-A 5% chance after taking a hit.
-An item or Special that can cure it.
-End the battle.
Stunned
Prevents the holder from taking their next turn.
How to cure:
-Goes away after the next turn (which is skipped).
-End the battle.
Budded
A state only Spud can inflict by use of one of his devices. The holder will lose about 1/25 of his or her max HP each turn, have Attack and Focus lowered to 85%, and Speed lowered to 75%.
How to cure:
-A 25% chance each turn after 3 turns.
-End the battle.
Positive States
States that benefit in battle.
Barrier
Every physical move will only deal 50% of its original power.
How to cure:
-A 20% chance after taking a hit.
-End the battle.
Shield
Every special move will only deal 50% of its original power.
How to cure:
-A 20% chance after taking a hit.
-End the battle.
Bounce Barrier
Every physical move that hits the holder will have about 25% of the damage delt on him or her bounce back and hit an enemy.
How to cure:
-A 25% chance after taking a hit.
-End the battle.
Mirror Shield
Every special move that hits the holder will have about 25% of the damage delt on him or her bounce back and hit an enemy.
How to cure:
-A 25% chance after taking a hit.
-End the battle.
Rejuvenation
The opposite of pain. The holder will have 1/25 of his or her max HP restored each turn.
How to cure:
-A 30% chance each turn after 3 turns.
-End the battle.
Vaporized
Enemies that try to attack the holder will always miss.
How to cure:
-A 50% chance each turn after 1 turn.
-End the battle.
Berserk
Doubles the holder's Attack, but cannot control the holder; he or she will always use the basic attack.
How to cure:
-An 85% chance each turn after 3 turns.
-End the battle.
Psycho Tamper Emotions
States that are caused using Psycho Tamper, the move granted to Steve after obtaining the 3rd orb. Each emotion will last the whole battle and can only be changed with another use of Psycho Tamper. Two emotions cannot be on one enemy at once. Some emotions are more rare than others.
Happiness (16%)
-Attack and Focus are lowered 30%.
Sadness (16%)
-Defense and Guard are lowered 30%.
Anger (16%)
-Attack is raised 50%.
-Hit rate is lowered 65%.
Fear (16%)
-Defense is lowered 50%.
-Evasion is raised 65%.
Shock (16%)
-Can't move for 2 turns. Returns to normal afterwards.
Love (10%)
-The holder will restore some of the opposite party's HP and SP right after infliction. Returns to normal afterwards.
Depression (5%)
-Attack, Defense, Focus and Guard are lowered 35%.
-Holder loses about 1/25 of his or her max HP each turn.
Rage (5%)
-Attack, Defense, Focus, Guard and Evasion are raised 40%.
-Hit rate is lowered 50%
Stat Modifications
When stats are modified, it acts as a state. Stats can only be lowered or raised one level, so don't spam them thinking you will gain or reduce more. Attack, Defense, Focus and Guard will raise 125% and lower 85%, while Speed raises 150% and lowers 50%. They each last the whole battle and can be reversed and inflicted along with another stat at the same time.
